Green with Envy

Now I was reading a blog the other day MAKE UP . MAKE NEW and she had some blueish/greenish eyeshadow. I had bought some not long ago, and haven't really used it! It reminds me of the 80's, but I know the blues are hot for spring. (yes... I did my research) I figured it was about time I tested it out!  I'm going to have to start stepping out of my comfort zone, otherwise I'm just going to have the same boring posts day in and day out!

On another note!  Work is almost done for the winter!  I have been so procrastinating at packing up all my stuff to take home!  I think if I was smart I'd just organize everything as I was packing so that my life was a little easier after!  I will be losing my internet for a few days, so I might not have a post until Wed or Thurs.  I hope you guys love this look as much as I do!

I just realized it looks like i have a moustache in this picture!  GROSS!!! Bring on the wax!  Thank goodness I'm leaving here in a few days!  I hope you all have a wonderful week!  And I will see you all when I return!  If you haven't done so already, make sure you check out some of the blogs I follow!  There is some really great tips on fashion, makeup, decorating, scrap booking.  All things girly... oh, and some food stuff too!  Because who doesn't love to eat?!?!

GOSH- Sea Me, LOREAL- (High Intensity Pigments) Perky, GOSH- Pineapple

I swept on the Yellow, then the Green, and then lined my lashes with the teal! I know these colors don't exactly go together the greatest, but its all I had! I'll work on aquiring more of the blue family when I'm home! I was actually a huge fan of this look!  I found that this made my eyes look grey!  It was kinda cool!  Now I matched the makeup to my clothes... kinda.  And painted my nails black with some turquoise tips.  All together, I had a pretty pulled together look (or at least I think so).

I'm so excited I finally am getting more blog readers!  I would love to hear what you guys are interested in.  Or what you would like to see!

PS.. I apologize for the horrible spelling if there is any!  I can't seem to find the spell checker, which was a life saver for me!

First Class or Coach?

I'm kind of having a lame day right now! I need to maybe get some motivation to go actually get ready! I figured I'd post one of my favorite pictures!

Now I'm uber excited now that I know my Bro and SIL, and adorable Niece are moving up north! It means that I will officially get to see them more! How cute is she?

Lately Coach has been tempting me with these emails that come directly to my inbox! Ugh... I'm so in love with their stuff, but I know I shouldn't buy any. I'm super happy with this purse, I just wish I got to use it more! Soon... Very soon! I get out of here in 6 more days! That right 6 more days people! Six days until partial freedom! I can't wait!

Who makes the cut?

Yesterday after I made my post I decided that I needed a haircut! I've been kind of sick of my hair lately! I can't wait until it gets longer, but its in that in between kinda stage where it just looks like crap. I've been tempted to cut it, but I know if I do I'll be unhappy! I compromised and decided that I would just give myself some bangs to change up my look. It seems like all the fashion bloggers on here have bangs, and I love their look! My most favorite is this girl Lily. You can check out her blog, BLEED FOR FASHION. Not only does she have the cutest hair, but she has some awesome style as well!

I should have taken a picture of actually cutting the hair, but I wasn't that brilliant! I'm incredibly happy with the way it turned out. It may not be super even, but it works for me! I feel like a brand new person!

I'm thinking about doing a give-a-way in the next little bit just so I can encourage more readers to stop by! (Plus, who doesn't love free stuff??) Stay posted for details!

As for the technical difficulties with my comments section yesterday, I think I finally figured it out! So comment away! I'm loving my new layout! I think I finally found something that worked for me and wasn't all over the page like my previous attempts at making something try and fit together!

Tis the season for Mud!

Now my face for some reason has been deciding to break out lately! Might be the weird combinations of things I've been putting on my face... who knows. So I figured I'd go with one of these pre-packaged mud masks that you see at the drugstore all the time! You can pick one up anywhere from $1.00-$2.00. I think its pretty reasonable! The great thing is these little things actually do a good job! Maybe its just the fact that it feels so great to feel like your taking care of yourself!

I put this on, using a brush finally! Normally I can't find one, and the worst part is, I used a blush brush! Talk about awkward! (Somehow I managed to get it all in my hair too!) I figure when you don't have much to choose from, anything will work! On the plus side, it inspired me to wash all my makeup brushes! (What a difference that made! They feel like brand new again! I should probably try doing it more often!!)

Wow... some days I think I suffer from some kind of attention deficit disorder because I can be all over the page! Anyways... After I put (brushed) this mask on I wandered around until it dried! (except for that thick spot I slopped on my forehead, it decided to stay wet and ugly looking, that I magically cropped out!) I Washed it off, and then as per usual stuck my grubby little fingers all over my face, because it felt oh so smooth! I really need to have someone tie my hands up after I've done a mask! Or maybe I just need to learn the art of self control!

I figured that today was a good day for a mud mask seeing as how its snowing outside, and as soon as it stops and the sun comes out its going to be disgustingly muddy out here! I hate this time of year! Why can't it just be summer already?!? I think today is a good day to curl up with a nice cup of tea and read a magazine or something!

The Disappearing Act!

So lately I know I haven't written anything in my blog. I'm just yet again frustrated with it! Why write something I feel like no one reads? I think I'm mostly ready for spring and ready for a break from work. I always feel more like getting ready when I have somewhere to go and show it off!

I did decide to curl my hair the other day, which is a huge improvement. I tried a new face mask and ended up with some kind of eye infection. Needless to say, now I'm a little leary about putting stuff on my face until it clears up. Besides my eyelid is all swollen up and it looks like I got punched in the face! Not excatly something I want to post all over the internet!
I bought this scarf a long time ago when they were all the rage! And a pink one too! I'm thinking I should make a scarf part of my staple in my wardrobe because I love the way it looks and the way it makes me feel! All I know is I'm super excited for summer to wear all of my new clothes I've bought lately! Its about darn time I had a decent summer wardrobe!

Anyways! I know this post is all over the place, but beggers can't be choosers! More to come in the next few days, I'm going to try making an effort to actually do this daily!

Breakfast Face!

Now I decided to try a new face mask. This one is going to be a soothing smoothing, pore tightening mask. I hear all these wonderful things about yogurt, I know oatmeal is soothing, honey is wonderful, and I figured almonds would be a good for some exfoliating! Here is the recipe I used:

1 Tbsp. Oats
1/2 Tbsp. Almonds
1/2 Tbsp. Yogurt
1/2 Tbsp Honey
I ground the oats and almonds together in a grinder (obviously). I mixed in the yogurt and honey. It was a thick consistency and smelled delicious! Of course I had to taste it... but as wonderful as it smelled, it didn't taste as good! Maybe its because I don't really like that taste of honey (unless its on homemade biscuits).

I applied the mask thickly (this recipe makes about enough for two applications) and left on for 10 mins while I read a bit of the book I was trying to finish (I started it in October, and finally finished it yesterday. YAY me!)

Now I found the mask was left on too long, I had a heck of a time washing it out, so I'd recommend doing it for about 5 mins. This wasn't my most favorite mask I've ever made, but it was still pretty good!

These boots are made for Walkin'....

I finally found the most amazing boots!I've been looking for a perfect pair of boots for a long long time! The problem with me is my overly large calves! I always find boots that say wide calves and then say 15"... that's not wide!! My calves are 18" and my legs don't just happen to be wide, but they're long as well. Thus finding a pair of boots that go right up to my knees (yet fit around my legs) is challenging! (seeing as how that's a good 20" from the floor to my knee)

I had a discussion with my SIL awhile ago about how her legs are too skinny and that all boots are too big on her in the legs. It seems that our family (and inherited family) is just a bunch of odd shapes... (hopefully her daughter, my very adorable niece, inherits my fat legs, and my SIL's skinny legs and morphs those genes into perfectly sculpted limbs!)

Back on track... I found this website from the UK called Duo that has wide and narrow calves!!! I found them to be reasonably priced. I mean really, whats a couple hundred bucks for an investment pair of boots? You can get calves as small as 30cm (11.8") up to 50cm (19.7"). Now this is the greatest thing I've heard in a long time! I fell in love with this pair of OTK boots, unfortunately they didn't have them in my size! But I wanted to share them with you in case you've been looking for a totally cute pair of OTK boots and haven't been finding what your looking for (doesn't look like I'm going to either)! My inspiration came from my SIL who bought a cute pair of Steve Madden boots this winter, and wears them all the time! I just love how they look! She has great style! (and no, I don't get some kind of commission for saying that!) Seeing as how I'm on that topic you should check out her blog too! Required2BeInspired Now recently she's bought a pair of cowboy (or cowgirl) boots and I love them! I figured I'd get my own pair when I got home, but I found these boots that are kinda cowboyish, kinda more dressy! (yes Natasha, I did buy them) They are from the DUO website and they are the TALAMORE style. I think they're going to look super cute with dresses and other things. I can't wait for them to arrive in the mail!

I just thought I'd share this fabulous website with you! I know we all have our own issues trying to find things that fit properly, and its so nice to finally find something that you can basically custom order (at a reasonable price)! The customer reviews are also nice! Helps you make a more informed decision! Happy shopping everyone!

Braids

So braids have been the trendy little hair thing for a little while now, and I've tried them a few times myself but was never really satisfied with how things turned out! Probably because when I try braiding my hair it looks like someone put flippers on my hands and told me to go at it!

Today, I actually managed to make a braid, and it looked kinda cute! I got sick of my hair down so I made kind of a messy looking ponytail and I was super pleased how it turned out! I guess the whole practice makes perfect is true! This is defintely a style I'm going to try again because it felt feminine and kinda flirty! (not that I need to feel flirty sitting out in the middle of nowhere) It was just a feel good hairstyle! If any of you attempt this I'd love for you to send pictures so I can see how you did it!

Oh, and for my SIL... Why couldn't you do a head accessory with hair for one of your challenges this week? For all of reading or stopping by, make sure you check out her blog this week as she's doing a head accessory challenge and has a bunch of wonderful DIY posts (well one so far, but rumor has it another one is on the way)! Rosy isn't just for your cheeks anymore!

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm super excited about this blog post because I love how my eyes turned out!!

This might be a blog with tons of pictures! I think I took about 126 pictures while doing all this stuff! Some obviously looked a little goofy, so they didn't make the cut!

Now the first thing you need to know when applying eyeshadow is to make sure you use a primer on the base so that you have a good foundation! I use Manual Override silicone primer. (Jay Manuel off of Americas Next top Model, and Canadas...is the maker behind this product) It helps even out those fine lines, and gives you a smoother look overall!

After applying my primer, I let it dry, and brushed on Gosh Effect Powder in "Pineapple" I applied it to my brow bone, and all over my lid making it my highlighter! Next I brushed on Piurre Effects Mineral Eye Shadow #310 on my lid. I stopped at the crease, and made sure that I blended the two well! Next I brushed on Gosh Effect Powder in "Rosewood" in the creases. Now the trick to getting perfect eyeshadow is to blend well. The best eyes look like the colors just melt into each other! I think I did good picking with these three colors!

Next step is Mascara. The foundation for some look at me eyelashes is to use an eyelash curler beforehand! I bought a new one on days off from www.sallybeauty.com. (I actually went to the store and was buying hair dye, but that is for another post, and found out they have all kinds of great products for a reasonable price!) I used Rimmel GLAM'EYES Mascara 003 Extreme Black, let it dry, and then did another coat of mascara using Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express in Glam Black.

I figured this was a good day look! Not too overdone! Now to glam it up a little bit I put on some Liquid eyeliner! I just started using the stuff, and I have to say, I'm rather impressed with the results! I used Almay liquid liner in Black. Once I had applied it I let it dry for a few mins and then used a brush to smudge it in so it didn't look so harsh! I was completely thrilled with the results! This look was simple, and I pulled it off in about 20 mins!

Now I didn't want anything too drastic for my lips, so I applied Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm with SPF 10. I always forget how pink this stuff makes my lips go! I actually really like the color and can't wait till summer when I have a tan! I think this is going to be the one thing I can't live without!

Oh... And I got new Glasses! I personally love them! They make my outfits feel that much more fun!

Honey and Milk Face Mask!

Well I finally got my camera back so I suppose I have no excuse not to be blogging now!

Today I was feeling like my skin could use a little pick me up so I went back to my trusted friend HONEY! Now I think I've mentioned the benefits of honey in an earlier post, but I can't remember, so I'll do it again! (I also added milk to the honey, as I'm sure you've already figured out by the title!)

Honey: Is full of antioxidants (which we all hear are good for us). Honey can be used to moisturize skin, it can help heal blemishes and even out skin tone. The more you use it the better result your going to get.

Milk: Natural ingredients in milk can help exfoliate your skin (I have no idea how this works... but apparently it does). It is also known to sooth skin and leave it nice and soft! Milk can be used as an astringent, but if you do use it, make sure that you rinse it all off after to prevent bacteria growth on your skin!

Now mix the honey and milk together till it becomes about the consistency of syrup. Obviously your going to use more honey than milk or your going to have a sticky mess on your hands! Apply to a clean face (clean because you want your skin to receive the maximum benefits from this without dirt and oil getting in the way) Leave on for about 15 mins to half an hour. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Sometimes I feel doing these wonderful things to my face is detrimental because I always want to touch and feel how good my skin feels. Its a bad habit that I'm trying to break and I'm feeling like I'm going nowhere... yes.. I just touched my face... lol
